In August, Mike, Maggie and a number of Birmingham IA members were warmly welcomed to The Moseley and Kings Heath Shed, located in Kings Heath Park, Vicarage Road, Kings Heath at the back of the Victorian Tea Rooms. The Shed is run as a charity, and two Birmingham IA members run sessions there for Birmingham residents. During a fantastic guided tour of the facilities, they saw some amazing examples of the craft work made possible for users of all abilities. Your Christmas present problems could be solved at a stroke! Sessions include woodworking, glass-working, mosaics and furniture restoration, with tuition from experienced members. This is a safe, supportive space for anyone who enjoys crafts, and importantly, there are good toilet facilities nearby. Everyone enjoyed the visit, which was followed up with coffee and cakes in the Victorian Tea Rooms. For further info, about the shed and their activities, see their website moseleyandkingsheathshed.org.uk or call 0121 443 3906.
