Sutton Coldfield Social April 2024

We have moved our Sutton Socials to Friday mornings, and at our meeting on 12th April 2024, we were joined by Roy Bustin, Group Relationship Lead for National IA, who is tasked with connecting local IA groups with National IA and with other local groups, reviving lapsed groups and assisting local groups in recruiting new volunteers for groups. Roy outlined his role and took questions from the members. Regional meetings were mentioned as a possible way to get different regional IA groups together.

Birmingham IA member Keith Kightley described his recent succes in the London Landmarks Half Marathon on 7th April to raise funds for IA. He was wearing his official T shirt and brought his winner’s medal. He had raised in excess of £1600, was still raising money and members could contribute if they wished.

Mike Jameson reminded members about our Information Day in Solihull. Sixty members have already booked, but there are still spaces available. Mike also told members about a planned Zoom meeting with a manager from Birmingham Airport on 2 July  to discuss travel and security for ostomists.  Andy Greenway gave advance notice of our planned trip to the Black Country Living Museum, Dudley on 20th July.
